You may remember author R. A. Villanueva from his work in PBQ Issue 84. After the publication of his debut book of poetry titled Reliquaria, Villanueva has taken to Twitter with his latest experimental poetry project. TAYO literary magazine interviewed Villanueva about what he calls “feed sonnets.” In the interview, he discussed the formatting restrictions of Twitter and the interesting effects it has on the form of his poetry. His poem “Lake View,” which appears in Reliquaria, was published as a feed sonnet in a series of seven tweets. Villanueva concludes the interview with an eloquent quote from Wendell Berry: “It may be, then, that form serves us best when it works as an obstruction to baffle us and deflect our intended course.” Congratulations to Villanueva on Reliquaria‘s success; we look forward to seeing where this project goes!
