Julie Choffel: Poem

March 8, 2022 by PBQ Leave a Comment

I hold you up
because it is morning
and that is what we do in the light.
What we do in dark
is less plain.
What did you say
over my body
while I slept.
Was it kin
to what I told the children
in their darkest hour
or was it closer
to what they say to me
in mine.
