Ava C. Cipri

Ava C. Cipri is a non-binary queer writer, educator, and activist in Pittsburgh, PA. She is a co-founder and poetry editor of The Deaf Poets Society: An Online Journal of Disability Literature & Art. A Pushcart, Best New Poets, and Best of the Net nominee, her work appears or is forthcoming in Cimarron, WHR + Moth, and Stirring’s Manticore: Hybrid Writing from Hybrid Identities anthology, among others. Ava is the author of the chapbook, Leaving the Burdened Ground (Stranded Oak Press, 2018), which was a finalist in the Robin Becker Chapbook Series Contest and the Grazing Grain Poetry/Hybrid Chapbook Contest. Her second chapbook is Queen of Swords (Dancing Girl Press 2018). She holds an MFA from Syracuse University and takes Carlow University’s Madwomen in the Attic Workshops, where she runs in the company of other Mads.
