Timothy Otte Heatherwalker (Claim a Sky Inside the Grasses)

October 25, 2016 by PBQ

a second can begin
in the middle of another second

a life can live
inside of another life

we make nests
inside the homes we make
inside of houses

cities inside of cities

I use a small book
as a bookmark
an infinite loop I carry with me
you can look at them
eating one another

gods inside of other gods

a book can begin in medias res
a second can begin in medias
of another second

yellow and black goldfinches
claim a sky inside the grasses
a sky inside a greater sky

God: look at them
            what I have created—
God: how many worlds
             have I created?—
God: they nest inside of one another—
