Born in the South Central Coast of Vietnam, Binh Nguyen spent her childhood between the mountains of her father’s birthplace, and the sea, of her mother’s. At age nine, she immigrated to the U.S. with her family as a political exile. She received BAs in literature and philosophy from Baylor University, an MA from the University of Washington, and an MFA as a George Starbuck Fellow and a Robert Pinsky Global Fellow at Boston University. Binh has studied at the Ezra Pound Center for Literature in Italy and has researched at the Saison Poetry Library in London. Her recent works also appear in Salamander (Winter 2011/12), Poetry Ireland Review (Spring 2012), and Popshot Magazine (Spring 2012).
